Privacy Policy
PixADair is an iOS app that denoises astrophotography images using an AI service provided by Topaz Labs. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. The short version: we don't collect any of it.
What we collect
Nothing. PixADair does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal information about you. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, no tracking identifiers, and no server-side logs that we operate.
Analytics and tracking
PixADair contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporters, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not know whether you opened the app, which features you used, or whether the app crashed.
Photos you process
When you select a photo from your library, PixADair reads it from your device using the standard iOS photo picker. To denoise the image, PixADair uploads it to the Topaz Labs denoising API using the API key you provide. The processed image is returned to your device and saved to your photo library if you choose to save it.
PixADair itself does not retain copies of your photos on any server we control, because we do not operate any servers. Your original photos never leave your device except for the upload to Topaz Labs that you explicitly initiate.
Third-party processing — Topaz Labs
Because PixADair relies on the Topaz Labs API to perform denoising, any image you choose to process is sent to Topaz Labs' servers under the terms of their own privacy policy and API terms. You supply your own Topaz Labs API key, which is stored locally on your device in the iOS Keychain and is sent only to Topaz Labs' endpoints.
Topaz Labs' handling of uploaded images is governed by their own policies. Please review them directly:
If you are not comfortable with Topaz Labs processing your images, do not use PixADair to denoise them.
Data stored on your device
PixADair stores a small amount of information locally on your device so the app can function:
- Your Topaz Labs API key, kept in the iOS Keychain.
- Your app preferences (such as appearance and default denoise model).
This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Children's privacy
PixADair is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
